We congratulate Dr. Gregory Harpring, an OB-GYN at our Church Avenue location in Brooklyn, who has received privileges to perform robotic surgery at The Brooklyn Hospital Center.
Dr. Harpring earned this privilege by showing his skill with the da Vinci Surgical System, a leading robotic-assisted surgery platform. He has already completed his first case as a credentialed robotic surgeon, performing a successful robotic myomectomy.
Dr. Harpring completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois and earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University. He then did his residency at Lutheran General Hospital near Chicago, where he received several honors for his work in laparoscopic and robotic surgery, including the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons Resident Achievement Award.
At Sun River Health, Dr. Harpring offers comprehensive obstetric care and gynecologic services, including minimally invasive procedures like hysterectomy, myomectomy, and ovarian cyst removal. He also takes part in medical mission work in the Dominican Republic, reflecting his strong commitment to accessible women's health care.
With this new credential, patients throughout our network can now access advanced robotic surgery for complex gynecologic care at New York State's largest Federally Qualified Health Center.
