Children Ages 5-11 Can Receive COVID-19 Booster Dose
We are happy to let you know that 5–11-year-olds can now receive Pfizer COVID-19 booster doses. Young children in this age group are approved for the booster doses by the FDA and CDC.
All 5–11-year-old children who have already received their COVID-19 Vaccine Series can receive a booster dose as long as it has been 5 months since their last dose of the COVID-19 Vaccine.
It is important to protect young children against severe disease. COVID-19 cases have recently increased. The vaccine for this booster dose is the same as the first two doses. This booster is safe and very effective in keeping young children from getting severe disease from COVID-19.
If your child has not yet received the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, it is important to schedule this as soon as possible.
